Affordable Homes: Nerul, Navi Mumbai

Nerul has stood up to expansion on all sides, with a planned infrastructure and good roads. The road and railway connectivity of Nerul is excellent. On the harbour line, Nerul has frequent facilities with trains up to Mumbai CST and also till Andheri and Panvel on the other end. The recent Nerul-Thane rail service is another feather in the cap. Buses of BEST and NMMT services have an extensive network in Nerul.

Nerul is home to many educational institutes like SIES Graduate school of Technology, Ramrao Adik Institute of Technology, Terna Engineering College, Dr. D. Y. Patil Medical College, SIES College of Management Studies, Dr. DY Patil College of Architecture, Ramrao Adik Institute of Technology, Dr. D. Y. Patil Dental College, Delhi Public School, St. Augustine’s High School, St Xavier’s High School, Sterling College, Ryan International School and Apeejay School.

Nerul is a complete place to stay in Navi Mumbai — a person who has stayed here will never want to move out from here. It is also fully saturated, with hardly any projects to come up. Over the years Nerul has developed in leaps and bounds. In the past nine years or so the infrastructure of Nerul has undergone a drastic change.

Considered by many as the “best place to stay in Navi Mumbai after Vashi“, Nerul has the most scenic stretch of the Palm Beach Road — the showpiece of Navi Mumbai. This state-of-the-art road is at par with those in other developed cities, giving it an ultra modern appeal. The mangroves on one side and the lake on the other give it a tranquil air.

CIDCO has some plans to develop public parks and boating facilities, which will increase the appeal of Nerul as a preferred residential location. The D.Y Patil cricket stadium launched with the IPL bang, has given an altogether new identity to Nerul. Because of the stadium, the place has now got its own name in the map of India. It has always been a popular shopping destination after Vashi, with the presence of many leading brand-stores and malls. In a nutshell, a complete residential area that is what Nerul is…

Green hope to plant two lakh trees-save nature for future-a special report

Come Sunday, and the city is all set to go green as Navi Mumbai is will witness the biggest annual greening drive. City NGO Green Hope, for the second year in a row is organizing a major tree plantation drive where in 2 lacs trees will be planted across Navi Mumbai.
Humankind has an obligation to put right the damage we’ve caused, and evidence suggests the planet has a remarkable ability to heal, if we give it a helping hand. Planting trees is seen as one of the most important things the average man in the street can do, because of its environmental impact…..

    Hi Vijay,

Thanks for your comment. It is indeed a great initiative to plant trees in order to compensate for the man-made destruction. I fully support this and please let me know how I can contribute to it.

Sena faces setback ahead of elections as KK strong corporator Shivram Patil from Sena to NCP
When Sena corporator Shivram Patil arrived at Bhavkaleshwar Temple to greet Thane Guardian Minister Ganesh Naik on his birthday, tongues were set wagging that Shivram Patil was all set to part ways from the Shiv Sena at a crucial time ahead of elections to join NCP. While Shivram Patil said that his differences with his Navi Mumbai Chief was the reason for changing loyalties, the latter said that Shivram Patil’s defection will hardly have any impact on the Shiv Sena’s prospect in the upcoming assembly elections. Monika Bhosale reports.
Sena Corporator Shivram Patil arriving at Bhavkaleshwar Temple to greet Thane Guardian Minister Ganesh Naik on his birthday – these are the visuals that shocked many. As if this was not enough take a look at what Shivram Patil had to say about Ganesh Naik after greeting the leader.
Shivram Patil dropping in at Thane Guardian Minister Ganesh Naik led to speculations of him joining the NCP and leaving Shiv Sena that too at a crucial time of assembly elections
And while the Shiv Sena seems to be unperturbed with Shivram Patil’s exit, the NCP party is seeing defection and change of loyalties to the NCP party as a welcome sign ahead of the assembly polls.
